Dubai – Sharikat Mubasher: Hub71, Abu Dhabi’s global tech ecosystem, announced the launch of Hub71+ Life Sciences, a new specialist platform aimed at accelerating innovation across biotechnology, medical technology, and digital health.
Announced during Hub71’s annual Impact Event, the initiative positions Abu Dhabi as a global launchpad for life sciences founders, offering direct access to regulators, hospitals, investors, and industry partners. It supports startups from early-stage validation to commercialization within the emirate’s integrated healthcare cluster.
Ahmad Ali Alwan, CEO of Hub71, said the new ecosystem builds on years of experience supporting startups since 2019, creating a collaborative environment for researchers, entrepreneurs, and investors to advance healthcare innovation and strengthen Abu Dhabi’s global position in the sector.
Developed in strategic alignment with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE), and HELM cluster, the program aims to foster a dynamic life sciences economy in the UAE capital. Founding Partners include DoH, EDE, and HELM, joined by Anchor Partners such as the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, and Ultrahuman.
The launch follows the success of startups like BioSapien, Ovasave, and Biotwin, which are already advancing oncology, fertility, and AI-driven healthcare solutions from Abu Dhabi.
Hub71+ Life Sciences will provide startups with access to funding, clinical trials, and regulatory guidance, enhancing collaboration across the healthcare ecosystem. With nearly 300 startups that have collectively raised AED 9 billion, Hub71 continues to expand through specialist ecosystems, including Hub71+ AI, Hub71+ Digital Assets, and Hub71+ ClimateTech.
