
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The total operating revenues of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Saudi Arabia surpassed SAR 1.7 billion in 2024, showing an annual growth rate of 7%.
According to a recent report released by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT), wholesale and trade activities represented 36.3% of total operating revenues, followed by manufacturing activities at 19.3% and construction activities at 15.7%.
Medium-sized enterprises accounted for the largest share of operating revenues last year at SAR 797.5 billion, with manufacturing activities contributing 29.6% and the wholesale and retail trade activities contributing 19.6%.
Small-sized enterprises achieved operating revenues worth SAR 444.5 billion in 2024, with the wholesale and retail trade activities contributing 35.1%. Additionally, the operating revenues of micro-sized enterprises hit SAR 478.7 billion, with the wholesale and retail trade activities contributing 65%.
Moreover, the total operating expenditure of MSMEs reached SAR 762.9 billion with a growth rate of 5.7%, while the total compensation of employees recorded SAR 244.2 billion, marking a growth rate of 7.1%.
