Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Zain KSA announced inking a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DataVolt to explore the development of data centers across Saudi Arabia, as demand for computing capacity continues to grow alongside cloud and AI adoption.

The agreement was signed at LEAP 2026 and brings together Zain KSA’s telecommunications and digital infrastructure capabilities with DataVolt’s expertise in developing and operating data centers.

The planned facilities are expected to provide scalable capacity for Zain KSA, as well as government entities, enterprises, cloud providers, digital content companies and other digital platforms. They will also be designed to support high-density computing needed for advanced AI applications.

The data centers are expected to incorporate energy-efficient infrastructure, advanced cooling systems and high-capacity connectivity, with a focus on resilience and scalability.

The companies said the collaboration will contribute to expanding Saudi Arabia’s digital infrastructure and supporting the Kingdom’s ambitions to develop its data and AI economy under Vision 2030 and the National Strategy for Data and AI.

The fifth edition of LEAP 2026 runs from 31 August to 3 September at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham, north of Riyadh.

The event is expected to attract more than 1,000 global speakers and experts, 1,800 technology companies, 600 startups and 1,900 investors and venture capital representatives, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s growing role as a hub for technology and innovation.
