Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Sulzer, the Swiss industrial engineering and manufacturing firm, broadened its business portfolio in Saudi Arabia and expanded its flow equipment manufacturing plant in Riyadh to fulfill the increasing demand for infrastructure development in the region.

The expansion included a new assembly and packaging area, a warehouse, and a new office space, bringing the facility’s total space to 13,127 square meters, in addition to increasing the headcount to 215 employees, Oil Review Middle East magazine stated.

The Swiss manufacturer recently expanded its centrifugal pump manufacturing and testing facility in Riyadh, to meet the demand across all sectors through providing a wide range of aftermarket services for all Sulzer and Saudi Pump Factory products, including repairs, spare parts, and retrofit solutions.

Suzanne Thoma, Executive Chairwoman of Sulzer, said: “We see strong demand for pumps in energy, water and other sectors that reflects the growing infrastructure requirements in the region. This recent investment demonstrates our ongoing commitment to developing innovative solutions that are close to our customer needs.”

Meanwhile, Ahmed Al-Humayyed, Managing Director of Sulzer Saudi Pump Company (SSPC), commented: “Sulzer pump technologies are critical to numerous undertakings throughout the Kingdom.”

“Customers value the range and robustness of our pumps, and this expansion demonstrates our commitment to meeting their needs,” Al-Humayyed added.

SSPC is the first complete manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia that joined Sulzer’s global manufacturing network in 2015. It offers a wide range of pumps for oil and gas, petrochemical, mining, and water industries.
