Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Airlines Group plans to order around 150 narrow-bodied aircraft for Saudia Airline, the flag carrier of the Kingdom, and its low-cost arm, Flyadeal.
The group is expected to receive the aircraft within two to three years as the negotiations are at the final stage, Saleh Eid, Vice President for Fleet Management and Agreements at Saudia Airlines, stated in an interview with Asharq Bloomberg.
He further noted that the deal will be the biggest for Saudia Airlines.
Driven by Vision 2030 objective to transform Saudi Arabia into an attractive tourism hub and enhance the aviation industry, the Saudi airlines took steady steps to broaden their destinations network, increase their fleet, and integrate technology into their operations.
Riyadh Air, the newly launched world-class carrier, recently announced that it is about to seal a deal to buy as many as 100 Boeing 737 Max jets to increase its fleet. In addition, it partnered with global technology giants, such as IBM and Microsoft, to accelerate the adoption of technology to offer seamless experience for customers.
