
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The Saudi Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Company (EVIQ) plans to establish a nationwide network of over 5,000 fast chargers for electric vehicles (EVs) by 2030, CEO Mohammad Gazzaz revealed.
The company targets establishing more than 1,000 EV charging hubs across Saudi Arabia by 2030, Gazzaz stated in an interview with Asharq Al Awsat newspaper.
He added that EVIQ aims to enable the EV sector in the Kingdom by building best-in-class infrastructure and increasing demand for EVs to make the sector more attractive and rewarding for private-sector investors.
Gazzaz clarified that EVIQ plans to establish charging hubs in strategic locations around the Kingdom using top-quality charges that fulfill the users’ needs.
Recently, EVIQ inaugurated a first-of-its-kind research and development (R&D) facility in the region to test a range of chargers and software to ensure the deployment of best-in-class equipment and related software.
EVIQ is a joint venture between the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) that aims to support electric vehicle (EV) adoption in the Kingdom.
