
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (Modon) signed agreements worth SAR 255 million to promote the mining industry in the Kingdom, the authority revealed in a statement.
During the Future Minerals Forum (FMF)24, Modon sealed two deals to allocate 87,547 square meters of developed industrial lands in Al Kharj Industrial City to establish two factories for marble and granite production.
In a panel session, Modon’s Vice President of Business Development Ali Alomeir showcased the authority’s efforts to support mining industries and achieve sustainability for minerals supplies in its industrial zones.
It should be noted that the number of mineral products factories in the Saudi industrial zones grew by 4.36% by the end of 2023, backed by the increase in national and global investments.
Modon clarified that the total number reached 1,629 in 2023, with cumulative investments surpassing SAR 95 billion and total areas of 21 million square meters.
The third edition of the FMF 24 takes place in Riyadh from 9 to 11 January, gathering senior government and industry representatives to create resilient and responsible mineral value chains in the super regions of Africa, Western and Central Asia.
It features more than 40 high-profile and strategic conference sessions to discuss various topics, such as developing a global critical mineral strategy, integrating centers of excellence into regional strategies, setting up a global transparent standard for mineral supply, and creating green metal value chains applying new technologies.
