Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The Saudi Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Company (EVIQ) inaugurated its first electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging site at Roshn Front, signaling a step forward in the EV industry in the Kingdom, a recent statement unveiled.
The new site includes two leading-edge fast chargers, each with an output of over 100 kW, which will provide high-power charging to all EV users in Riyadh.
The site was inaugurated by Mohammad Gazzaz, CEO of EVIQ, in the attendance of Lee Talbott, Director of Retail at Roshn Group, and Muhammad AlShiha, Head of Automotive and Mobility Sector at the Public Investment Fund (PIF).
Gazzaz stated that opening the new site represents a “landmark moment” for EVIQ and a significant achievement in the company’s plans to deploy 5,000 fast chargers across 1,000 strategic locations around the Kingdom by 2030.
“The opening of our first site at Roshn Front means that the public has access to the most advanced electric vehicle charging technology. These fast chargers will revolutionize public EV charging, allowing EV drivers to top-up their vehicles in a short period of time,” Gazzaz said.
Meanwhile, David Grover, CEO of Roshn Group, commented: “Roshn Front is an iconic destination for Riyadh, with over 800,000 visitors each month, making it an ideal location to host EVIQ’s first public EV charging facility.”
Grover added that working with EVIQ came as part of the group’s strategies to implement cutting-edge technologies and partner with best-in-class collaborators.
Recently, EVIQ and Roshn Group signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to deliver high-speed public electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure within Roshn’s residential communities and commercial properties.
