
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia emerges swiftly as the world’s artificial intelligence (AI) leader, CEO of IBM Arvind Krishna stated.
The economic impact of AI in the Middle East is expected to hit $320 billion by 2030 and the Kingdom is forecasted to gain massive profits of $135.2 billion, representing 42% of the total volume, Krishna said in an interview with Asharq Al-Awsat.
Speaking about IBM’s future software lab in Riyadh, the CEO noted that it will drive innovation in data and AI fields as well as sustainability programs to cultivate Saudi talents and create high-quality jobs in the information technology field.
He affirmed that establishing the new lab underscores IBM’s commitment to realizing Vision 2030’s objective to transform the Kingdom into a global innovative technology hub.
Krishna elaborated that the new lab will focus on digital innovation as well as designing, managing, and refining products that enrich the technology infrastructure in the Kingdom.
He further emphasized the pivotal role of IBM in boosting tech development in Saudi Arabia and driving digital transformation by entering into significant partnerships.
Moreover, Krishna noted that IBM’s partnerships in the Kingdom aim to upskill around 100,000 Saudi talents in the digital sector.
