
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The total number of points of sale (POS) transactions in Saudi Arabia reached 2.4 billion during the first quarter (Q1) of 2024, with sales estimated at SAR 167 billion, according to recent figures released by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).
SAMA’s monthly bulletin stated that the number of POS terminals in the Kingdom hit 1.78 million during the first three months of 2024.
In May, the number of POS transactions touched 894.4 million, with sales amounting to SAR 56.4 billion. Additionally, the number of POS terminals reached 1.8 million in the same month.
The report showed that the number of e-commerce transactions conducted using Mada cards hit 263 million, with sales worth SAR 44.4 billion in Q1-24.
Moreover, the number of e-commerce transactions conducted using Mada cards reached 91.8 million in May, with sales amounting to SAR 16.2 billion.
