Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Under the patronage of The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced to be organizing the second edition of its Multilateral Industrial Policy Forum (MIPF) in October 2024.
Recognizing that the acceleration of industrial development is essential for achieving the SDGs, the MIPF addresses a clear demand for robust industrial policy frameworks and informed decision-making processes, according to a recent statement on the official website of the event.
The forum's agenda includes a ministerial roundtable attended by several ministers and leaders of industrial transformation from around the world. Discussions will focus on industrial policies, their challenges, and proposed solutions.
Additionally, there will be interactive sessions on the use of clean energy sources in industry, showcasing global best practices to enhance supply chain resilience and adaptability to changes. The forum will also explore the latest digital manufacturing technologies, including artificial intelligence.
After a successful 2023 edition, featuring over 500 participants in a hybrid setting, this year’s edition will take place in Riyadh and aims for in-person attendance of 1500 people.
The MIPF represents an opportunity to highlight the Kingdom's achievements in the industrial sector through an accompanying exhibition that will showcase initiatives and efforts to localize promising industries. It will also highlight the unique investment opportunities provided by the sector. The forum aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Industrial Strategy in supporting competitiveness and fostering innovation and creativity within the industrial sector.
