
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia and Indonesia have a growing business cooperation rooted in shared economic interests and strategic partnerships in various sectors, including energy, infrastructure, tourism, and trade. To broaden this cooperation, Indonesia aims to partner with Savvy Games Group to enhance the games and e-sports industry in the Republic.
Indonesia’s Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno met with Brian Ward, CEO of Savvy Games Group, to explore collaboration and investment opportunities in the gaming sector, according to a statement by the ministry
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Gamescom 2024 event which took place in Germany from 21 to 25 August.
During the meeting, Uno revealed that the number of game players in Indonesia recorded 100 million to 200 million on various platforms, backed by the presidential regulations that aim to accelerate the development of the national game industry.
Savvy Games, owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), was established to support the game and e-sports industry locally and globally, drive global game investments, and foster game developers and technology innovators.
CEO Ward stated that the company is exploring investment and expansion into several game companies, including Indonesian ones.
Moreover, he added that the company looks for studio teams and companies around the globe to collaborate with or to add to the company’s portfolio.
