Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Tourism signed a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) to embed AI across the tourism sector and enhance its operational efficiency.

The MoC, which was finalized during the Global AI Summit, outlines plans to establish a center of excellence for AI in tourism, deploy AI-driven technologies, and create data-driven strategies to upgrade the sector’s offerings, a recent statement revealed.

This collaboration underscored the Kingdom’s dedication to leveraging advanced technology to realize the goals of Vision 2030. Through this collaboration, the ministry aims to personalize visitor experiences and optimize resource management.

Anas Al-Sulai, Assistant Minister of Tourism stated that the partnership with SDAIA represents a significant move towards setting new standards in global tourism.

“As we continue this upward trajectory, we recognize the critical role of technology in enhancing the visitor experience. From the moment travelers land at our airports to every experience they have in our country, AI will be a key driver in delivering seamless, personalized, and innovative services,” Al-Sulai elaborated.

The third edition of the Global AI Summit takes place in Riyadh from 10 to 12 September, gathering global figures, economic policymakers, and artificial intelligence (AI) specialists from 100 countries.

It aims to tackle challenges in AI development and address several issues such as human capacities, technical infrastructure, ethics, bias and fairness, national security, information security, and the economic and social impacts of AI.
