China’s WEMART lands its first store in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Chinese Hypermarket WEMART launched its first branch in Saudi Arabia, bringing the warmth of home to the Chinese expats in the Kingdom.

Chang Hua, China’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia announced the news on his official account on x.com, expressing his delight with this launch which marks the first Chinese hypermarket chain penetrating the Saudi Market.

Located in Khurais Square Riyadh, WEMART will bring high-quality commodities and delicious food from China and even Asia all harvested from its own farm to all Asian food lovers in Saudi Arabia.

Founded in Dubai by Sun Jiansheng, a businessman from Wenzhou, China, in 2006, WEMART has evolved from a small shop into a commercial giant that integrates multiple industries such as retail supermarkets, farms, e-commerce, and logistics.

Now, with its first comprehensive mall in Saudi Arabia, WEMART’s future development is attracting significant attention, in comparison with giant rival, Lulu Retail from India.
