According to recent figures from the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), PoS transactions totaled 3.2 billion in Q3-26, up from 3.1 billion in Q2-26, while PoS terminals totaled 2.4 million.
As in previous quarters, the food and beverage (F&B) sector accounted for the largest share of PoS sales in Q3-26, at SAR 30.3 billion through 764 million transactions, followed by the restaurants and cafés sector at SAR 23.4 billion, via 787 million transactions.
In addition, the total value of e-commerce transactions processed using Mada cards reached SAR 111.8 billion in Q3-26, up from SAR 101.4 billion in Q2-26.
These figures reflect the continued expansion of the Kingdom’s digital payments landscape, with PoS sales, transaction volumes, and e-commerce spending all posting quarter-on-quarter growth. The sustained dominance of the F&B and restaurants and cafés sectors underscores shifting consumer spending patterns, while the steady rise in Mada-card e-commerce transactions highlights growing consumer confidence in digital payment channels.
