
Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Dara Khosrowshahi, Uber CEO, announced that the company plans to launch self-driving cars in Saudi Arabia later this year, marking a significant step in the evolution of the Kingdom’s transport sector.
Speaking at the Saudi-U.S. Investment Forum in Riyadh, Khosrowshahi stated that autonomous driving technology plays a central role in improving road safety and reducing operational costs and developments that would enhance both user experience and service efficiency.
He also emphasized that Uber’s success in Saudi Arabia is closely tied to the advancement of the country’s public transport infrastructure. Khosrowshahi reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia’s vision for a modern, sustainable mobility ecosystem in line with Vision 2030.
The announcement reflects growing alignment between international tech companies and Saudi Arabia’s strategic push to become a regional hub for innovation and smart transportation solutions.
