Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), the world’s largest express transportation company, officially launched its operations in Saudi Arabia as part of its growth strategy.

The strategy includes launching the first dedicated FedEx flight into Saudi Arabia, developing a regional hub at the King Salman International Airport, and expanding FedEx Logistics freight forwarding services into the Kingdom, the company announced in a press release yesterday.

These initiatives are expected to boost operational capacity and generate job opportunities, in alignment with Vision 2030’s economic diversification goal.

The launching ceremony was attended by the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Saleh Al-Jasser, President and Chief Executive Officer of FedEx Corporation, Raj Subramaniam, and several senior officials from the ministry and the company.

Commenting on this milestone, Al-Jasser said: “FedEx's strengthened presence reflects the Kingdom’s growing appeal as a premier destination for logistics and global investment. Saudi Arabia’s rising influence as a key global logistics hub and a strategic gateway for trade and transport services is clear.”

He highlighted that the increasing number of leading global logistics and courier companies establishing direct operations in Saudi Arabia reinforces the Kingdom’s position as a global logistics hub and strengthens its pro-investment environment.

For his part, Richard Smith, Chief Operating Officer for FedEx International, commented: “By expanding in the Kingdom, we are broadening our network’s reach and creating faster, more dependable trade routes. As global commerce evolves, Saudi Arabia’s strategic position ensures we can move goods with both speed and scale to connect more people and possibilities.”

FedEx introduced its first dedicated flight into Saudi Arabia, becoming the only express logistics company to establish a nonstop air connection from the United States and Europe to the Kingdom.

Moreover, FedEx’s planned regional hub in Riyadh will connect international markets to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar.
