Doha – Sharikat Mubasher: The Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) joined a landmark $13 billion Series F fundraising round for Anthropic, the U.S.-based AI company behind the Claude platform.

The financing, led by ICONIQ and co-led by Fidelity and Lightspeed, values Anthropic at $183 billion post-money, as per the company’s press release.

QIA’s participation underscores the Gulf’s growing interest in artificial intelligence, as Anthropic cements its position as one of the fastest-growing technology companies globally. Since launching Claude in March 2023, the company’s annual run-rate revenue has surged from $1 billion at the start of 2025 to over $5 billion by August.

Anthropic now serves more than 300,000 business customers worldwide and is expanding rapidly into enterprise solutions, developer tools, and consumer products. The new funding will support further research in AI safety, enterprise adoption, and international growth.
