Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Citi officially opened its new Regional Headquarters in Riyadh, located at Kingdom Tower, marking a major milestone in its regional expansion strategy.
As per a recent press release, the inauguration ceremony was attended by Khalid A. Al-Falih, Minister of Investment, and Ibrahim Al-Mubarak, Assistant Minister of Investment, alongside Jane FraserCiti Chair and CEO, Naveed Kamal, Citicorp Regional HQ CEO, and Fahad Aldeweesh, Citi Saudi Country Officer.
The global bank received its Regional Headquarters (RHQ) license from the Ministry of Investment and the Ministry of Commerce in November 2024, in line with Saudi Arabia’s program encouraging multinational companies to establish regional bases in the Kingdom.
Fraser noted that establishing the RHQ in Riyadh reflects Citi’s confidence in Saudi Arabia’s economic transformation and its commitment to serving clients across the region. The new office will provide strategic direction and management functions for Citi’s operations across the Middle East and North Africa.
During the event, the Citi Foundation announced a $500,000 grant to Education for Employment (EFE), aimed at training more than 700 young people across five MENA countries—including Saudi Arabia—in digital and green skills. The initiative is part of the foundation’s Global Innovation Challenge to prepare youth for future job markets.
Citi described the initiative as a reflection of its long-term partnership with EFE and its ongoing commitment to empowering young talent across the region.
