
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with SURJ Sports Investment to strengthen AlUla’s position as a global destination for sport.
The agreement aims to develop and enhance sports programs and content, build an integrated sports ecosystem, and explore investment opportunities in sports programs and training initiatives, the RCU revealed in a recent statement.
Under this MoU, both entities will collaborate to develop a variety of sports, including tennis, polo, cycling, athletics, and show jumping, and host international events and championships.
The agreement establishes a framework for future collaboration in sports investment, the activation of initiatives and programs related to hosting tournaments and events, and the exploration of opportunities within SURJ’s investment portfolio.
The areas of cooperation include exploring opportunities to host and activate the Professional Fighters League MENA series in AlUla. This also includes evaluating investment opportunities in complementary sports content, recovery and rehabilitation programs, training camps, and the attraction of international championships.
Moreover, the MoU underscores RCU’s commitment to expanding its strategic partnerships and strengthening the role of the sports sector as a key driver of sustainable development.
