Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Global AI-driven cloud communications platform Infobip announced the launch of a new data center in Saudi Arabia, strengthening its presence in the Kingdom and supporting organizations that require strict data sovereignty and regulatory compliance.

The company said in a recent press release that the new data center will support enterprises and public-sector organizations across Saudi Arabia by enabling secure, low-latency AI services and more reliable customer engagement solutions. The investment also signals Infobip’s long-term commitment to the Saudi market and its growing demand for sovereign AI infrastructure.

Amsal Kapetanovic, Head of Saudi Arabia at Infobip, noted that the Kingdom’s rapidly expanding digital economy and its ambitions under Vision 2030 are increasing the importance of trusted local digital infrastructure. He indicated that locally hosted data centers are becoming a strategic requirement for businesses and government entities seeking operational resilience and regulatory certainty, especially during periods of regional instability.

The new facility comes as businesses across Saudi Arabia face growing requirements around data residency, particularly in sectors such as government, finance, healthcare, and large enterprises. Many organizations are also dealing with performance challenges when AI workloads and sensitive data are hosted outside the region, often resulting in higher latency and reliability concerns.

Infobip’s in-Kingdom infrastructure is designed to address these issues by allowing companies to deploy and run AI workloads locally. This ensures that data is stored and processed within Saudi Arabia, without leaving national borders, helping organizations meet regulatory obligations while improving service performance.
