Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: The World Bank has highlighted the impact of Saudi Arabia's AI Sandbox in Digital Learning initiative, launched by the National eLearning Center (NeLC), citing its measurable achievements in advancing artificial intelligence adoption across the education sector.

According to the report, the initiative has benefited more than 6,300 participants while supporting the development of 41 AI-powered digital learning solutions. It has also established 22 strategic partnerships with local and international organizations and produced eight evidence-based research studies to support AI-driven innovation in education.

The World Bank described the initiative as a comprehensive national model for the responsible use of AI, noting that it enables educational institutions, universities, private-sector organizations, and innovators to develop and test AI applications in secure, real-world learning environments.

The report added that the initiative's integrated approach—combining experimentation, governance, capacity building, and collaboration—has strengthened institutional readiness and created scalable practices that can serve as a reference for countries seeking to modernize their digital education ecosystems.
