Abu Dhabi - Sharikat Mubasher: 6G MENA 2026, the first dedicated 6G conference in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, will take place in Abu Dhabi on 19 and 20 October, gathering leading figures from regulatory authorities, the technology sector, and academic and research institutions from around the world.

Organized by the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), the two-day event aims to discuss 6G's technical and regulatory priorities, strengthen regional and international cooperation, and support the region’s readiness for upcoming telecommunications transformations, according to the official statement released today.

6G MENA 2026 will provide a regional platform that brings together government and regulatory authorities, industry representatives, and the research and academic communities.

The conference reflects ongoing international efforts to develop the standards and technical specifications for the next generation of telecommunications. It will gather leading experts and specialists to discuss global trends in 6G network development and showcase the latest innovations in integrating AI into telecommunications infrastructure.

The 6G MENA 2026 event will address the next phase's requirements for spectrum, regulatory frameworks, and technical standards, promoting knowledge exchange and supporting the development of an advanced telecommunications ecosystem equipped to meet future needs. It will explore ways to strengthen countries’ participation in shaping international 6G directions and standards, ensuring they reflect local market needs and future priorities.

The conference’s program will focus on several strategic areas, most notably AI-native networks, the future of spectrum for 6G, preparations for the World Radiocommunication Conference 2027 (WRC-27), and the integration of terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks, including satellite technologies and direct-to-device connectivity.
