Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Port of NEOM announced it has partnered with Pan Marine, with support from DFDS and regional logistics players, to launch a new multimodal land bridge connecting Europe to the GCC through Egypt and northwest Saudi Arabia. According to a press release, the corridor combines trucking and ferry freight services, offering a faster and more flexible alternative to traditional shipping routes.
Pan Marine, which began operations at the Port of NEOM in late 2025, has expanded its reach through integration with DFDS, enabling truck-based cargo to move directly from Europe into Gulf markets. The route supports a wider range of goods beyond container shipments, including fast-moving consumer goods and other time-sensitive cargo.
The corridor is already being used by importers across several European countries, including Italy, the UK, Germany, and Poland, with access extending to key markets such as the UAE, Kuwait, Oman, and Iraq.
The initiative builds on a pilot linking Egypt’s Port of Safaga with the Port of NEOM and northern Saudi Arabia, which demonstrated shorter transit times compared to conventional routes. By combining maritime and overland logistics, the new corridor strengthens regional supply chains and positions the Port of NEOM as a growing hub for trade between Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
