Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha’at) launched the “University Startups” competition, aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among university students, faculty, and staff.
The initiative supports the development of campus-based startups and aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goal of building a knowledge-driven economy, as per Monsha’at’s announcement on X.com.
The competition seeks to embed an entrepreneurial mindset early on by offering intensive training camps to help participants advance their startup projects. Targeting university communities across Saudi Arabia, the program promotes the growth of innovative student-led ventures from concept to market readiness.
The initiative begins with a virtual bootcamp involving 30 teams, from which 10 will move on to the next stage: an intensive in-person training camp. The competition will conclude with a final event where the top three projects will be selected. Winning teams will be awarded financial incentives and a chance to compete in regional and international entrepreneurship contests.
Through this competition, Monsha’at aims to create a thriving entrepreneurial environment within Saudi universities and expand opportunities for young innovators to grow their ventures on a global stage.
