Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Simplex, an Egypt-based tech company specializing in assembling and manufacturing Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machinery, plans to invest approximately $2 million to open two new branches in Dammam and Jeddah during 2026, according to Founder and Chairman Ahmed Shaaban.

The company is set to open its first manufacturing factory in the Kingdom next October, as part of its strategy to expand in Saudi Arabia, Shaaban stated in an interview with Asharq Bloomberg on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony of Simplex’s second factory in Egypt.

In January, the Egyptian company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Saudi National Industrial Development Centre to establish its first factory in Riyadh, following the successful raising of $13 million. Spanning 20,000 square meters, the new factory will be dedicated to producing advanced CNC machines.

With investment worth $50 million, Simplex’s second factory in Egypt spans 40,000 square meters in 10th of Ramadan City. The operation of its new production lines is expected to contribute to achieving key strategic returns that support the national manufacturing ecosystem. The factory is expected to meet growing demand and accelerate production and delivery processes for domestic and international clients by elevating the quality and precision of mechanical manufacturing operations, doubling overall production capacity.

It also helps reduce manufacturing lead times and minimize reliance on external suppliers, thereby supporting the development of new products that enhance the competitiveness of the "Made in Egypt" brand.
