Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia officially submitted its Registration Dossier for World Expo 2030 Riyadh to the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), marking a significant step in the event's preparation.
According to BIE’s official announcement, the dossier is a key requirement for formalizing Saudi Arabia’s role as the Expo’s organizer, pending approval by the BIE General Assembly. Prepared in collaboration with the BIE Secretariat, the document was presented to Dimitri S. Kerkentzes, BIE Secretary General by Fahad M. Al-Ruwaily, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to France.
Following Saudi Arabia’s successful bid to host World Expo 2030 during the BIE’s 173rd General Assembly in November 2023, the Kingdom now enters the phase of formalizing its plans. The dossier outlines detailed strategies for Expo implementation, including operational timelines, legislative frameworks, financial measures, and the Expo site’s master plan. It also covers conditions for international participation and post-event legacy initiatives.
The BIE Secretariat and its member states will now review the submission ahead of its expected formal registration. Once approved, Saudi Arabia can officially begin Expo preparations and issue invitations to international participants.
Kerkentzes described the dossier as a comprehensive blueprint for Expo 2030 Riyadh, commending Saudi authorities for their dedication to meticulous planning.
Set under the theme "Foresight for Tomorrow," Expo 2030 Riyadh aims to welcome over 200 countries and organizations from October 1, 2030, to March 31, 2031.
