Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: stc Group confirmed its readiness to take part in the 2025 edition of the Esports World Cup, returning as an Elite and Founding Partner with a technology stack built to keep gameplay fluid and audiences connected.
After delivering 99.9 percent availability at last year’s inaugural event, the Saudi operator is layering in fresh capabilities, including AI‑driven traffic modelling, self‑optimising networks and closed‑loop automation that detects congestion before it happens and adjust the network in real time, as per its official press release.
On the ground, 27 new 5G towers—three dedicated solely to the tournament hub—and more than 1,295 indoor antennas will blanket key venues with 4G and 5G speeds topping 2 Gbps. A purpose‑built operations centre, dominated by ultra‑high‑resolution 168‑megapixel displays, will track every metric across the network so engineers can resolve issues instantly.
Software‑defined networking adds another layer of agility, while overall coverage inside and around the venue has been widened by more than 20 percent compared with 2024. The upgrades build on a performance that earned stc the Communications, Space and Technology Commission’s “Platinum Operator” title for the eighth year running, underscoring its role in Saudi Arabia’s fast‑growing esports ecosystem.
