
Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The total value of point-of-sale (PoS) transactions in Saudi Arabia surged to over SAR 58.8 billion in July, up from SAR 53.9 billion in June, according to recent figures by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).
SAMA’s monthly bulletin revealed that the number of PoS transactions jumped to 984 million in July, compared to 919 million in June, while the number of PoS terminals reached 2.1 million.
The food and beverages (F&B) sector registered the largest PoS sales in July, totaling SAR 8.5 billion across 224,262 transactions. This was followed by the restaurants and cafés sector, which generated PoS sales valued at SAR 7.4 billion.
Moreover, the number of e-commerce transactions using Mada cards hit 149 million in July, with sales amounting to over SAR 29.8 billion.
