Dubai – Sharikat Mubasher: Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy is preparing to host the third edition of the ‘Create Apps in Dubai’ Championship on 7 October, as previous winners highlight the role of Dubai’s digital ecosystem in helping entrepreneurs turn app ideas into commercially viable and scalable businesses.
Create Apps is a Dubai government initiative that aims to strengthen the city’s position as an App Economy hub by supporting innovation and app development. According to a recent press release, the initiative provides developers and entrepreneurs with access to expert mentorship, professional qualifications, learning resources, and facilities to develop mobile applications. Its Create Apps Championship is a global competition open to UAE residents and international startups seeking to expand in the region.
Previous winners said their participation helped them refine their business models, strengthen market credibility, and connect with investors, companies, government entities, and other ecosystem stakeholders.
Boom co-founder Mariam Alnuaimi said the initiative and related technology events helped the company develop its business model and expand its network, while Boom co-founder Mariam Almarri said winning two awards in 2025 helped the app move from an early-stage idea to a market-ready product.
Meanwhile, Takeem co-founder and CEO Rakesh Mavath said the Championship strengthened the platform’s credibility and helped it attract more than 100,000 property units with annual rental value exceeding AED 9 billion.
