Dubai – Sharikat Mubasher: Oraseya Capital, the investment arm of the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ), increased its venture capital fund to AED 1 billion from AED 500 million to expand financing for startups and high-growth companies in Dubai and international markets.
According to a recent press release, the expansion also raises the maximum investment per company from $3 million to $6 million, equivalent to approximately AED22 million, and broadens the fund’s scope to include international companies of strategic relevance to the UAE.
The fund will prioritize emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, healthcare and longevity, and digital assets, while continuing to support early-stage startups and companies pursuing international expansion.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of DIEZ, said the move reflects Dubai’s ambition to strengthen its position as a global hub for innovation, investment, and future industries, supporting the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33.
Launched in November 2023, Oraseya Capital has built a portfolio of 66 active companies across sectors including fintech, artificial intelligence, healthcare, and digital commerce. Its portfolio companies have raised a combined $1.1 billion, while their annual recurring revenue has increased from approximately $180 million at investment to $387 million.
