Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: The Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef opened the fourth Ministerial Roundtable as part of the Future Mineral Forum 2025 (FMF 2025).
In his opening remarks, Alkhorayef stated that the minerals sector needs investments worth $6 trillion to meet demand over the next decade.
He explained that the forum focuses on developing an international critical minerals framework for a resilient supply chain, establishing a network of centers of excellence (CoEs) to build capacity in the region, and advancing responsible supply priorities through certification and transparency, as well as addressing key challenges facing the sector notably the lack of investments.
The minister stated that the roundtable represents a “unique platform” to address challenges and craft actionable solutions, setting the stage for a future of meaningful impact.
Alkhorayef further affirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to tackling global challenges and driving transformative change.
The Ministerial Roundtable meeting seeks to bolster international collaboration in producing the critical minerals essential for the global energy transition. It provides a platform for ministers and senior officials to discuss sustainable development strategies for the mining sector, focusing on positioning mining as a catalyst for economic growth and social progress.
With the theme ‘Year of Impact’, the FMF 2025 takes place in Riyadh from 14 to 16 January aiming to advance local value creation through practical strategies that drive sustainable growth, focusing on enhancing and promoting investments.
