Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: OORI, a Saudi-based private markets investment platform, announced it has been granted the Capital Market Authority (CMA)’s license to conduct arranging and advising activities in the Kingdom as it prepares to begin operations.
Backed by a seven-figure US dollar pre-seed funding round completed in 2024, OORI will provide qualified investors with regulated access to Shariah-compliant private market opportunities, initially focusing on technology companies across pre-seed, venture, growth and pre-IPO stages, according to a recent press release.
The funding round was backed by strategic investors, family offices and angel investors from Saudi Arabia, the GCC and Europe, including Bunat Ventures and RZM Investments. The capital supported OORI’s technology platform, regulatory licensing and operational preparations.
Elie Nasr, Co-Founder and CEO of OORI, said the platform aims to address barriers that have traditionally limited private market access, including high investment thresholds, limited deal availability and complex investment structures.
OORI said it has established partnerships with investment banks, venture capital firms, private equity funds, wealth managers and family offices to provide curated opportunities to qualified investors.
The platform plans to expand into additional alternative asset classes over time, while exploring technologies including tokenization and smart contracts.
